Perhaps you mean that in context of social liberals “sex ,drugs and rock and roll”. But it is not true of economics.<br /><br />Actually progressives don’t like economic change, they want a plan, they want predictability even in the climate, and most importantly they want control. They are perfectionists, utopians.<br /><br />The reason free market capitalism and conservatives (particularly reformed Judeo Christians) can handle change is that they accept the fact they are not in control. They accept there is no answer; no plan that could possibly work in a one size fits all sense. They accept competitive ideas of the market place and that trial and error is the best way to adapt and not to seek perfectionist utopian solutions.
