Real Sex Education (The American College of Pediatricians)

Attention: School Superintendents

Out of concern for the health and well-being of all youth, the American College of Pediatricians mailed a letter to all public school superintendents in the United States on April 1, 2010. The purpose of this letter was to inform school policy makers of a new Web resource, www.FactsAboutYouth.com, created by the College and other professional health organizations to clarify the proper approaches to youth with non-heterosexual attractions.

The mission of the Facts About Youth project is to advance a school environment in which all students will experience the opportunity to achieve optimal health and safety.

Read the Letter, the Fact Sheet, and the Press Release on the subject.

Yes Jenn, that reference was a doozy. Completely devoid of useful information, it is a screed by gay activists and COMPLETELY ignores the facts.

Actually, Bill... it contains nothing BUT facts, including statements by those researchers that the ACP misrepresented. Don't you think that, perhaps, the people who actually conducted the research that ACP continues to misinterpret and misrepresent know exactly what their research found and how the science has been twisted to suit the ACP's ideology?

There is not a single "fact" that the ACP quotes that hasn't been repudiated by those who did the research. You, and others, may continue to choose to ignore the facts, but you cannot erase the facts of the research by simply wishing them away or denying their existence.

EVERY major medical professional organization of ANY standing has rejected the so-called 'science' quoted by the ACP and many have specifically denounced this recent letter from them. Are they ALL wrong? Are the 50,940 members of the American Academy of Pediatrics just missing the boat by choosing NOT to join their, at most, 60+ colleagues as member of the ACP?

It's bad enough when ideology leads to misrepresentation of research findings and denial of scientific facts, but when it also leads to direct harm, abuse and disregard for children and youth, it crosses over into something truly dangerous and worthy of condemnation.

I suggest you do a check in on your humanity, empathy, compassion and most importantly, your ability to reason scientific and clinical truth from ideological "wishful thinking".
